Lewis Black on the Economy

When comedians start taking on the economy, you just know something's seriously wrong. And then they offer sound solutions…? I'm not going there. "Lewis Black says, 'we have a two party system, the Democratic Party, a party of no ideas, and the Republican Party, a party of bad ideas,' and offers his own plan for the economy."

Watch video clip here.

what's dumber is when these ******s are working together.
tax cuts, defecit, everything. he nails it. and it's funny cause its true. it's funny cause he's right. and if half the pols had half the decency, half the guts… not.

Hey Mr Q, Thanks for the laff! What a hoot!

I just got back from three weeks visiting my mother in Florida, and despite overcoming the anxiety of a disfunctional family, the trip was sadly depressing. The sprawl of South Florida, once a sleepy, semi-tropical paradise, has hyperhopped into a homogeneric hell where you need to drive everywhere to go anywhere, where some people are compelled to have their air conditioning on even in the "winter" months, where McMansion developments on postage stamp size lots are so squashed together and leave no room for green between, and where said developments bulldoze all traces of tree, animal, and bird, and where the density of traffic lights is as high as the time you sit at each light - I tell you, it was enough to want to just cry.

And after burning a boatload of jetfuel to get there and back, Lewis Black has got me a chipper again. What medicine a laff can do.

Hey jc! I missed the part about debt free greenbacks! He must of said it while I was in tears laughing. I'll have to watch it again, with pleasure!

Hey Ruby! I'm glad you enjoyed it. But, you have jc to thank, and apparently he has norm to thank, and so on...:)..isn't the internet and the free flow of information a God send?

But, good to see you back! I was just about to send you email. I was thinking about you the other day, praying you were well. Glad to see that you are.

And about the high density population in Florida, how else to expect them to inflate real estate prices? That's their magic trick, cram us into a small box and have us bid each other out over square inch areas of land. It works like a charm because they control the money supply. They decide which parts of the country will be developed (and when) and which will remain barren (and for how long).

It's a travesty and it must stop.

Take care, and stay in touch!

hey q, i added the green back bit. i don't think he knows abt the fed, maybe he does? comedians are usually "august" type clowns, you know sad. cause they actually see what's going on.

but gov works, hey i'm ok with that. gov green baks + gov works and we'll be getting somewhere. greenspan and his ilk behind bars forever? hooray!

Yes, thanks JC, et al!!!!!

To add on So. Florida: the real estate portion of both the Sun Sentinel (the Fort Lauderdale paper) and the Miami Herald took up MORE THAN HALF of the newspaper. I am not kidding. Filled with cheezy ass Meditteranenan (sp?) knock-offs so you too can live like a Roman senator and drive three miles to the strip mall stopping at six lights and burning away 30 minutes of your life all to pick up dinner.

I read somewhere that is was the same way in the late 20s before the big crash in the Depression - that the real estate portion of the newspaper was bloated with "bagains" to invest in. gotta check that...

Speaking of governments works: what decent country, that had any integrity at all, would allow their infrastructure to decline the way it has in our beautiful land? We could repair our water systems and replace old pipes, do much needed water treatment and sewage upgrades, create electrical grid support (with wind of course), develop a working national train system, clean up the dying coasts and create better fishery management, geez! you could go on forever listing what we could do to support our public works.

Don't think it's gonna happen, we're too broke.

We're not broke, Ruby! The System is!

We have our wealth. Our wealth is in our labor and our natural resources. All we need to do is scrap this corrupt and bankrupt monetary system, wipe this fraudulent debt (at the very least the interest portion) out of existence, start fresh with interest-free bills and nationalize our public services again.

While I concede this is impossible under the current administration (and Congress), it's not because they can't do it. It's because they won't do it. We just need to put people in power who represent working Americans not money lenders.
