the mind-boggling Truth about Iraq's money pit
Nothing I could say can adequately prepare you for the mind-boggling fate of billions upon billions of Iraqi dollars under US supervision.
This is not just 'water under the bridge' as one US official in the clip would have us believe. Even the word 'failure' does not adequately describe it."American law was suspended.
Iraqi law was suspended.
And Iraq basically became a Free-Fraud Zone.
In a Free-Fire Zone you can shoot at anybody you want.
In a Free-Fraud Zone you can steal anything you like."
* * *
"As trustees of the Iraq assets, we did a very poor job.
I think it was a failure.
After all, it was their money.
We should have spent it on the Iraqi people rather than sucking out of them and putting into the pockets of foreign businesses."
* * *
"And today, all across Iraq ordinary people are paying the price of that failure."
This is perhaps the greatest war-time swindle in history - a testament to just how criminal our government has become.
This administration not only dropped tens of thousands of bombs on Iraqis, they stole billions upon billions of their dollars. What makes it so remarkable is that they did it all out in the open. And, there's no end in sight.
Can you say kar-ma? What goes around comes around.
If we, as law-abiding Americans, don't bring these criminals to justice, we will end up PAYING FOR THEIR CRIMES.
Wait, what am I saying - we already ARE paying for their crimes!
While Iraqi newborns leave Iraqi hospitals in Braun cardboard boxes, Americans bleed increasingly larger chunks of their hard-earned money into the Death Star that makes this all possible.
WAKEUP AMERICA!!!
Look at the WADS of freshly printed CASH being swindled RIGHT BEFORE OUR EYES. That cash was printed specifically so that it can be stolen as it was.
The fact that it was printed was a freaking SWINDLE right there - the fact that they handed it to their buddies - for absolutely NOTHING in return - turned it into a DOUBLE SWINDLE.
HOLY CRAP! The whole world is a CRIME SCENE! And we're ALL witnesses!!!

One telling detail to put the larceny in perspective is that after all this time, the oil production in Iraq is still not metered (like the mythological bottomless wallet). At one point sources claimed the meters had already been installed, but in reality they're still dragging their feet on even selecting the contractor to do it. 'Free Fraud Zone' is a amazingly accurate description. You can't say they're not stealing everything that isn't nailed down because they're stealing that too.
These greedy pigs are heartless. That's all I can say, they're heartless.
The corporate terrorists are most vile criminals out there. Already ultrarich these greedy terrorists steal even more causing people including children to starve to death. And next in there plans to murder is anyone who tries to stop them from murdering children. We must fight back now.

old ranger, I just read your piece. I agree. We must do something to bring them to justice. I wish I knew where to begin, but I only interned one summer at the DA's office and I didn't handle indicting felons.
At the moment, however, it seems like before the American public takes any real action these bastards are going to have to do something else horribly catastrophic.
If they get their wish in Iran, that might be what it takes - mass food and fuel shortages and people killing eachother on the streets for a bite to eat.
So, why don't you have comments enabled at your blog?
Mainly because I didn't know exactly how to do it at first and then I figured I was the only one reading the blasted thing anyway. Let me ask this, how do we find out how to do these things, assuming that there would be a court in the land willing to go against the new dictators? There must be an accounting! We have to try. Just venting and stroking one another's egos is self defeating.
My guess is that we would have to find a prosecutor willing to risk giving up his political career - indeed his life - in order to bring these criminals to justice. Then, he or she would have to prepare a case against them and present it to a grand jury. From there, the scoundrels would have to answer before a grand jury.
But, the chances of finding a prosecutor willing to take such a courageous step are close to nil.
That being the case, I can't agree that it's fruitless to talk about and condemn their criminal outrages, even if it seems that way at times.
Eventually, the shit will hit the fan and the more people who are aware about where they should direct their anger and resentment, the better off we will all be.
Knowledge is power - even if it doesn't land these criminals in jail just yet.
Notwithstanding a court of law's power to indict and convict, the most important court in our nation remains the court of public opinion.
Stock up on rope. Thanks qrs.
Surah 100. Al-‘Adiyat (The Courser, The Chargers)
1. By the (Steeds) that run, with panting (breath),
2. And strike sparks of fire,
3. And push home the charge in the morning,
4. And raise the dust in clouds the while,
5. And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;-
6. Truly man is, to his Lord, ungrateful;
7. And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deeds);
8. And violent is he in his love of wealth.
9. Does he not know,- when that which is in the graves is scattered abroad
10. And that which is (locked up) in (human) breasts is made manifest-
11. That their Lord had been Well-acquainted with them, (even to) that Day.?
