Rasmiya Odeh was arrested and brought to Moscobiya. Her father, Joseph, and two sisters were detained for interrogation. Joseph Odeh was kept in one room while Rasmiya was beaten nearby. When they brought him to her she was lying on the floor in blood-stained clothes. Her face was blue, her eye black. In his presence, they held her down and shoved a stick into her vagina. One of the interrogators ordered Joseph Odeh “to fuck” his daughter. When he refused they began beating both him and Rasmiya. They again spread her legs and shoved the stick into her. She was bleeding from the mouth, face and vagina when Joseph Odeh fell unconscious.

The Sunday Times study presented the cases of forty-four Palestinians who were tortured. It documented practices in seven centers: prisons within the four principal cities of Nablus, Ramallah, Hebron and Gaza; the interrogation and detention center in Jerusalem known as the Russian Compound or Moscobiya; and special military centers located in Gaza and Sarafand.

The investigation resulted in concrete conclusions: Israeli interrogators routinely ill-treat and torture Arab prisoners. Prisoners are hooded or blindfolded and are hung by their wrists for long periods. Most are struck in the genitals or in other ways sexually abused. Many are sexually assaulted. Others are administered electric shock.

Prisoners are placed in specially constructed “cupboards” two feet square and five feet high with concrete spikes set in the floor. And maltreatment, including “prolonged beatings,” is universal in Israeli prisons and detention centers. Torture is so widespread and systematic, concludes the Sunday Times, that it cannot be dismissed as the work of “rogue cops” exceeding orders. It is sanctioned as deliberate policy and all Israeli security and intelligence services are involved.

Each detention center features interrogators with “apparent predilections.” The Russian Compound [Moscobiya] interrogators in Jerusalem “favor assaults on the genitals, besides endurance tests such as holding a chair with outstretched arms or standing on one leg.”

The specialty of the military center at Sarafand is to blindfold prisoners for long periods, assault them with dogs and hang them by their wrists. The specialty at Ramallah is “anal assault.” Electric shock torture is used almost universally.

Shehadeh Shalaldeh was arrested and interrogated at Moscobiya. A ballpoint refill was pushed into his penis. Abed al-Shalloudi was held without trial for sixteen months. Blindfolded and handcuffed while at Moscobiya, he was beaten by Naim Shabo, an Iraqi Jew, Director of the Minorities Department.

US Vice-President Joe Biden has voiced strong support for Lebanese democracy and independence during a visit 16 days ahead of key legislative elections.

Mr Biden said it was up to the voters to choose their own leaders, but the "enduring US partnership" would depend on their commitment to "freedom".

In other words Lebanon, vote the way the Wars for Empire and Israel crowd wants you to, or risk being put in the cross-hairs of a Star of David shaped rifle scope.

Mr Biden was speaking after talks with President Michel Suleiman. He was also due to meet the pro-Western Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, who is allied to the Hezbollah-led bloc.

The White House said the visit by Joe Biden was meant to reinforce US support for "an independent and sovereign Lebanon".

The 16-year-old Bedouin girl killed during a foiled weekend shooting attack at a Border Police base in the Negev had apparently sought to avenge Israel's offensive on the Gaza Strip, the Israel Police said late Saturday.

Basma Awad al-Nabari opened fire on Border Police barracks at the Shoket Junction near her village on Saturday afternoon and was subsequently killed by officers.

Police revealed later Saturday that they had found among al-Nabari's notebooks letters claiming that she wanted to become a shahid - martyr - and that the aim of the shooting was to avenge the offenses committed by Israel's defense establishment against the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

The girl arrived at Shoket Junction shortly before 2 P.M. and walked toward the main gate of the base. When she tried to fire on the sentry from a distance of a few meters, he turned the barrel away and escaped the bullets. She then ran away and took cover, while the sentry and another officer who had arrived at the scene tried to persuade her to turn herself in.

When the brief negotiation failed, another gun battle ensued, at the end of which the officer shot the attacker dead.

Yes, when someone is shooting at you, your best defense is to grab the gun barrel and turn it away. What a load. Most likely, the girl was kidnapped, raped and then murdered by IOF goons trying to cover up their crime.

Man claims in video to be US jihadist in Somalia Apr 3 02:19 PM

MOGADISHU, Somalia (AP) - A man who calls himself an American promotes holy war in Somalia in a video posted this week on an Islamic militant Web site.

A U.S. government contractor who tracks extremist propaganda says the footage is the first to show what may be an American with a senior role in al-Shabab, a Somali group the State Department considers a terrorist organization with links to al-Qaida.

The half-hour video features an amateur English-language rap soundtrack and purports to show an operation against Ethiopian troops in Somalia. It appeared on Web sites where al-Qaida and other militant groups often post messages and videos. A caption says it was filmed on July 15, 2008.

A tall man with long dark hair and a wide smile who appears to be in his 20s and gives his nom de guerre as "Abu Mansour al-Amriki," or "the American," urges Muslims around the world to send their children to replace his group's fallen fighters.

Ben Venzke, director of IntelCenter, the U.S. contractor that tracks extremist propaganda, told the AP that the video appears to be authentic.

"It was done in the same manner that all their releases are done," he said. "We have absolutely no reason to believe it's anything but an authentic (al-Shabab) video."

California-born Adam Gadahn has appeared prominently in al-Qaida videos in the role of a top propagandist.

Google al-Shabab and see if you can find their web page. I can't. Wouldn't a world-wide "terrorist" organization have their own web site?
