Sunday, Bloody Sunday
There comes a time when the death and destruction is so expansive, and the injustice in the air so thick, that to remain silent is to breathe in the fruits of oppression and betray the Truth that gives us life.
Car bombs - one detonated by a suicide attacker - and mortar rounds ripped apart two markets Sunday in a Shiite slum in Baghdad, killing at least 41 people and wounding 140. The carnage came after Iraqi politicians decided to move up the date to convene parliament, an indication of resolve to form a unity government. When will you speak out against this madness? When will you fight back?
Angry residents kicked the head of the suicide bomber, apparently an African, as it lay in the street of al-Hay market in the east Baghdad neighborhood of Sadr City. Others raced to and fro to collect charred corpses from among burning vehicles and shops, many firing Kalashnikov rifles into the air.
Take steps today to break away from the WAR machine. Because if you are not against it, then you are part of it.
You cannot stay neutral. You cannot ride the fence.
You must decide what you stand for, love or greed.
It's now or never. People are dying. Tomorrow it will be us.

Inaction IS complicity.
When I am dead, unlike others who remain silent, I will have gone to my grave with my soul.
yes qrswave, you can at the very least say you tried. And that is much better than sitting there with blinders on. Too bad more people dont follow your example
confessions, it's happening. The tide is turning. And ultimately, the system will disintegrate and collapse upon itself.
But, by communicating the truth, we endeavor to keep it alive.
Have faith and keep fighting.
glenda, I wish that I could join you. I'm stuck in NYC, but I am with you at heart. I'm hoping to go to DC this fourth of July.
Excellent Q. I have not done much, but in my own-way talking to others who have no idea what is going on, it is a lot. Sometimes exhausting. Have made A LOT of enemies this way...
As i have always believed, 'from the deepest parts of our mind to our furthest neighbour, from the smallest community to the largest empire the greatest source of destruction we can inflict is neglect'. Unfortunately people need more than smart words to incite great change, they need solutions and direction. So what is to be done?
Start by saying no. No to your employer. Change vocations. No to the lifestyle, if you've been living. You start by shedding your old life and starting a new streamlined one.
One where you aint buying it. One where you cooperate and share with others in order to survive. Find the people who care about what you believe in and move closer to them or bring them closer to you.
There's a way out of this darkness. But, it can only happen if people come together. You begin with your circle of influence and expand from there.
