8 Israelis<-->8 Canadians - Why doesn't Canada bomb Israel?
Israel supposedly started this whole murderous fiasco because 8 of its soldiers were killed and 2 kidnapped.
It all started on July 12 when Israel troops were ambushed on LEBANON'S SIDE OF THE BORDER with Israel. Hezbollah, which commands the Lebanese south, immediately seized on their crossing. They arrested two Israeli soldiers, killed eight Israelis and wounded over 20 in attacks inside Israeli territory.Now that 8 Canadians have been killed by Israeli fire, why isn't Canada bombing Israel?
Maybe Canada's government thinks the same of Canadians as Gingrich thinks of Americans.

As a Canadian, I take heart in knowing that the Israelis, a civilized, democratic country with principles that recognize the sanctity of life, would never intentionally kill citizens of my country. A tragedy to be sure, but I applaud Israelfor taking a stand against people who care little for human life, who have no tolerance for those with views different from their own, and who think nothing about asking their children to strap on explosives to kill themselves and others. From my personal perspective, I feel Israel has an absolute right to *defend* itself, that said, it's current actions are far beyond any reasonable response. Further, since it takes two to tango, I look at the behaviour of *both*

MONTREAL (CP) — Grieving relatives of a Montreal family killed in an Israeli air strike in Lebanon say the Canadian government must hold Israel responsible for what they call a civilian "massacre."
"I lost my brother, I lost my sister, my nephew, the family of my nephew, my aunt, my uncle. Oh God," said Hussain El-Akras.
"I'm frustrated, I'm angry. I can't sleep. I can't eat."
Foreign Affairs said Monday that seven Canadians died in Sunday's air strikes but the Al-Akhrass family said at least eight of their relatives, and possibly nine, had lost their lives in the attacks.
"We want justice," said Hassan El-Akras, whose father Ali was killed in the village of Aitraroun, 50 kilometres south of Beirut near the Israeli border.
Hussain and Hassan El-Akras spell their family name differently from most of their relatives.
Hassan's 70-year-old father was killed along with his aunt and uncle, Ahmed and Haniya Al-Akhrass.
Foreign Affairs informed the family that Hassan's cousin, 36-year-old Ali Al-Akhrass, died in hospital Monday. Family members had not confirmed his death with other relatives in Lebanon and were reluctant to believe the news.
Ali's wife Amira, 23, and their children, Salam 11 months, Saja, eight, Zeinab, six, and Ahmad, four, were killed in the blast Sunday.
Relatives say the families had returned to their ancestral home for a summer vacation.
They were forced to take refuge in the basement when an Israeli air raid hit the city. According to reports, the house collapsed after a bomb went off nearby.
"They're innocent," said Maysoun Al-Akhrass, sister of Ali Al-Akhrass. "They're Canadians like you who are dead."
The deaths sparked anger against Israel, which is blamed by surviving family for targeting civilians.
"Everybody blames Hezbollah," said Maysoun Al-Akhrass. ``Hezbollah is our protector.
"It's they who try to protect my family."
Al-Akhrass said she spoke to her brother last week after the air raids had begun.
"They couldn't eat, they couldn't drink, they couldn't move," she said.
"I can still hear my brother . . completely terrified to see his four children in front of him, his wife, his parents, his uncle and to hear the noise of bombs."
Hassan El-Akras said he wants Ottawa to denounce the escalation by Israel and to better protect Canadians trapped in Lebanon.
El-Akras said he wants to meet with Prime Minister Stephen Harper to ask for an inquiry into the deaths of his family members.
"We want to bring these criminals to justice," he said.
"Israel came to our village and bombed our village," said El-Akras, calling it a `massacre.' "They bombard innocent people and they kill them."
Foreign Affairs estimates 40,000 Canadians are stranded in the war-torn area, where the major airport has been bombed and major transportation routes shut down.

North Americans stand by and do nothing because their governments (both Canada and the U.S.) are currently under the control of right wing parties. Since about 15 to 20 percent of Republican voters and a smaller but still significant percentage of Conservative Party voters in Canada are of the fundamentalist Christian leaning, These parties are forced to support Israel unconditionally. These fundamentalists believe that the United States must aid Israel in its crusade against the Muslims before the onset of the Rapture. To defy Israel would anger this critical demographic, something that our friend George and Co. cannot allow to happen. Of course the Israelis know this and don't fail to capitalize on it.

First of all, Hezbollah entered Israel, kidnapped 2 Israeli soldiers and killed 8 others. They also broke UN resolution 1559 by not disbanding as they should have done.
Israel, on the other hand, did not deliberately kill those 8 Canadians in Lebanon and it poses absolutely no threat to Canada, whereas Hezbollah is a threat not only to Israel, but also Lebanon itself and the whole world.

Wow, a lot of you people (not everyone) are racist and seem to enjoy classifying all individuals from a certain group as the same. You people are pathetic. Learn to be mature and think independently. Stephen Harper is a great prime minister and wishes to bring some respect back to Canada. He is already advertising Canada as a lucrative investment opportunity for energy companies. Also, Harper will make sure (if given another term) that our military is brought back to its former, pre World War 2 might. It has been the years of liberal leadership that have practically turned Canada into a socialist welfare state. If Harper was not elected, Canada would have continued to watch idly from the sidelines while the middle east goes to hell. But no, now that we have a strong, decisive leader. One that is ready and willing to take action against terrorists and tyrannical governments and make them pay for their crimes, we will grow as a nation and reclaim our reputation for being a country that, although does not have the population of other larger nations, still perceivers in the most harrowing of times. That was the legacy our brave soldiers left for us in WWI and WWII, and we will continue it. The world is not prepared for socialist states yet (those will come in time) because it is still a very violent and dangerous place. Until humanity grows up and stops killing one another, we will have to stand on guard with a strong nation under a strong leader. I myself will be joining the Canadian military and I would much rather fight for Harper's Canada than Jean's or Martin's.
