[N]obody really knows the situation out here unless youre here. we are in saida and wallahi there is bombing less than 10mins from where we are staying. we have been hearing bombs and planes and shootin for two days straight now and it doesnt seem like its gunna end anytime soon (thhere is some goin on as i type)I think that it's safe to conclude that Israel's CONDUCT breeds hatred - not its "Jewish" character.
israel has bombed EVERY SINGLE STREET AND HIGHWAY that leads anywhere in lebanon. we cant leave saida. and we definately cant leave lebanon since they bombed the airport.
to sum things up, i have never been more terrified for my life as i am right now. nobody can eat and we are all just shaking. my heart is racing 24hrs out of the day because we odnt know what to expect.
WE ARE WATCHIN THE BOMBS DROP AND GUNS SHOOTING FROM OUR BALCONIES. WE SEE EVERYTHING. we were watchin the news and they were showing babies and kids dead. the saddest thing EVER it made us all cry because we are in the situation too. bombs droppin on houses and so forth. but of course the f'in media over there shows sh*t all (we were watchin CNN) except some stupid ass town in israel that got a rocket and ONE FREAKIN CASUALTY. INSHALLAH THEY ALL DIE A HORRIBLE AND TORTUROUS DEATH INSHALLAH INSHALLAH INSHALLAH.

Nuking Israel off the map is a concept just as despicable as what Israel is doing to the Palestinians. Just like the Israelis became the Nazis they supposedly hated, so too are Israel's enemies fated to become like the Nazi Israelis if these lines of logic prevail.
We here in the US are finially starting to see the real face of Israel. But Israel has our nation, government and people by the throats. The most powerful lobby group in the US is the Jewish one. They simply bought and paid our government officals to give them the power they now have. Our government was for sale and the zionists were willing and smart enough to pay for it. The Arabs could have done the same. They had the wealth that God gave them with the oil but what did they do with that wealth? IF Israel and the U.S. were about to attack Iran or Syria, would Israel keep all its military hardware in Israel (inside the Green Line), where it would be an easier target for counterattack, or would it find excuses to move its weapons into the occupied territories and Lebanon, where Palestinians and Muslims would be de facto human shields?
IF Israel and the U.S. were about to attack Iran or Syria, wouldn't the most strategic location for Israel's ground forces be in the occupied territories, adjacent to many Muslim countries that might be tempted to come to Iran's aid (Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia)?

1. You might say that Israeli response is in no proportion to a minor border incident. Maybe you feel that way about your people's lives and your sovereignity, we feel differently. If you cross the line, and they did, bear the consequences.
2. I read here that Hizballa doesn't operate under the sanction of the Lebanese government. Wrong. This blog's moto is the truth shall set you free, so stick to it. Hizballa is part of the Lebanese government, and Lebanon did nothing to dismantle Hizballa over the 6 years since Israel's pullout, de facto putting them in charge of the Israeli Lebanese border. Had they wanted someone sane there, all they had to is deploy their army, and not hide behind Hizballa.

I looked at the pictures of Rachel Corrie.
I don't think they were shot at the same time for a couple of reasons.
1. Why wasn't the incident itself shot? the photographer was in the position to see everything.
2. supposing the photographer was busy trying to rescue Rachel during the incident itself, there are other things that look different: the palm trees on the left in the upper picture and the hut on the right, the mosque in the background and the plastic bags on the left in the lower picture.
It seems that this "proof" is flawed, which does not make the death less horrible.
It's not such a clear cut case, or the guy would've been convicted.

It's clearly the same bulldozer. How many minutes later did it happen? I don't know and it doesn't matter, the fact is that it's the same bulldozer and that the driver could see her.

Not every action of every soldier is justifiable, the question here is what is the policy.
I think the killing of Rachel Corrie was a mistake, the killing of James Miller a crime and of Tom Hurndall was probably a crime too. It's my opinion and I'm not going to justify them.
I don't agree with the razing of homes as it was carried out in Rafah, I know the area and I think it was executed over-zealously to put it mildly.
On the other hand I know there is a very clear directive to hurt as few civilians as possible. I am too well aware that this doesn't always happen. Sometimes these are honest mistakes, sometimes soldiers don't understand their job, and sometimes it's just psychos with a gun who think it's a lisence to kill. Like I said on my first post here, every army commits war crimes, not as a discipline but because some people when put in extreme situations lose it, think they're above the law or want revenge because their best friend just blew up.
These are reasons but not excuses.
If we let war criminals get away with it, they'll come back to hunt us in our civilian lives (e.g Ariel Sharon).
But there is a simple common sense here that says when you are in danger, when your life is threatened you must take action. When a small group like Hizballa makes a decision for a whole country, that country has 2 choices. To curb Hizballa, or to go along with it. If they manage to disarm Hizballa (as the UN called for), get the soldiers released and stop firing rockets at Israel, Israel will pull out.
Same with Gaza: release the soldier, stop firing rockets, Israel will pull out.
Until then it's going to be tough for everyone here.

I used it REGULARLY to mirror and document entire websites, such a whatreallyhappened.com. So if something was to "happen" to that website so that it is 'no longer there', I can just put it back on servers.
