'Lebanon will be rebuilt before New Orleans is'

The folks at Brasscheck predict that Hizbullah, the so-called 'terrorist' organization will rebuild Lebanon before the Federal government coughs up the relief funds to rebuild New Orleans.
Instead of sending help to the tens of thousands of poor people who were stranded in the city after the federal levees collapsed, the government spread propaganda.

"There's rioting... there's looting...the city is too dangerous to bringsupplies to..."

The Truth:

At the Convention Center, 19,000 people were searched for weapons. A total of thirteen were found.

At the Super Dome, 39,000 were searched for weapons. Fifty were found.

Lebanon will be rebuilt before New Orleans is.

[Amy Goodman at Democracy Now talks about the travesty - mp3, real player]

No one can find the federally funded evacuation plan. It was paid for, but apparently never produced. People who had real expertise were ignored.

The company that was hired to prepare the plan: major contributors to the Republican Party.

Don't think for a minute it was an overwhelming natural force that killed 1,158 Americans in New Orleans.

As this material documents, it was willful negligence.

Were this a country that followed the rule of law, it would be called criminal negligence and the people responsible would be on their way to jail.

The story of corruption is so incredible, even I'm amazed.
I'm not. With this band of criminals in office, nothing amazes me anymore.

Asking the Federal government to rebuild New Orleans is like asking vampires to donate blood.

lesliemai, you are right on all counts. It is true that skin pigmentation is a factor. War monger wanna be cowboy George and his handlers would prefer to spend our $ on killing more non-whtie people than building them new homes. Greed is a factor as is racism. I don't think he is incompetent. I think he is truly evil or at least amoral.

The average American is so self absorbed, materialistic, and competitive that rather than feel motivated to help a less fortunate neighbor, they would see the neighbor's less fortunate situation as validation of their own superiority. Sick and sad but true. There is also an ingrained Protestant "blame the victim" attitude here that subverts the ability to empathize.

Bush doesn't fix things, like international laws, he merely breaks things.

The Lebanese are experts at rebuilding. We have to do it so often. We build. Israel has a temper tantrum. Rinse. Lather. Repeat.

There's some truth to this, but I think a lot of the problem is that we have a dependency mcculture here, everything is someone else's problem.. the one thing those who run our country hate most is people doing things for themselves and on their own. I'm watching the Katrina documentary on HBO now, it's obvious that our country would be better off if every neighborhood had it's own responsible (strictly) citizen militia to train and prepare, building and serving communities.

it's really nice to read this blog and other articles in which one sees that the Americans and Westerners are waking up to the lies and injustices in this world, because at the end of the day, you are the powerful and technologically advanced ones. When you people wake up and realise the truth, that is when some change will occur in this world. Though I do wonder how many (what percentage) of the western population is actually becoming aware of this reality and how many shun this all as conspiracy theories and lies from the other side? It is only when the majority becomes aware of this will there really come a change.
But am really happy to see soo many of the westerners trying to wake up their country (wo)men, thanks for your efforts. It is very appreciated by us, the less powerful and persecuted.

tabibkebab asks:

Why do Americans always pick Donkeys for presidents?

Our election system is a joke. We do not pick these people. The outside world and most Americans actually believe that Americans live in a democracy and that our officials are elected by the people. This is an illusion. It is a lie. These people are appointed. Elections are an empty ritual.

Even in our empty election ritua we are told which two or three bastards to choose from and to me it always looks like a choice between Coke, Pepsi, or Diet Coke. To many Americans, this seems like an actual choice but I think it's absurd. I've never seen a glass of clean water or anything else I would drink on that menu...ever.

Why cant you people pick somebody really intelligent befitting the stature of America as the most advanced country on earth.

Where is he? Put him on the menu and I'll vote for him. Most likely someone will shoot him in the head though. That's how it tends to work out around here.

America hasn't been even been the shadow of a democracy since 1947. The world cracked in 1947. It's been speeding downhill since then.

P.S. I am not really as cynical as I sound. I believe that evil and corruption can and will be defeated somehow.

Somehow the madness does not seem to be confined to the U.S. but has spread to many countries. The GWOT mantra ( as if it were possible to make war on a technique ) has infested security procedures of many nations. In Canada recently they grounded an airliner and interrogated a teenager - taking up several hours in the process - when the kid's I-Pod fell off his belt while he was using the lav and plugged it. In Australia they can detain a person under "anti-terror" legislation and they can't even tell their spouse without being thrown into "durance vile" ( the clink ) for 5 years. What we seem to have is an orchestrated denial of due process and civil rights afflicting what we deludedly refer to as Western Civilization.
I've seen really weird stuff online about Bush's background and family, including his grandad. A "conspiracy theory" ? Maybe. Linking Bush to the Neo-Nazi movement sure would explain a lot, however.
