The nation's unemployment rate dropped to a 4 1/2 year low [and] employees' average hourly earnings climbed to $16.41 in January, up 0.4 percent from December.Are these people on crack? Don’t they read the news?

So, why are these people lying through their teeth? Cui bono?

But who else stands to gain from these made-to-order employment figures?
What a crock of shit. These people don't worry about inflation. WE worry about INFLATION. They worry about increased labor costs, which hurt their bottomline.While wage growth is good for workers, big increases -- if sustained -- would be troubling to investors and economists who fret about inflation.
To fend off inflation, the Federal Reserve on Tuesday boosted a key interest rate to its highest point in nearly five years.
But, they throw in the word INFLATION to scare the crap out of us and convince us that they're looking out for our best interests.
Sure, they say. We (the Fed and its moneylending cohorts) are increasing interest rates; and that's going to take away your (alleged) gains in wages. But, it's for your own good.
How else are we going to 'fight' inflation? It's your fault! Your wages are inflating the cost of products!
Duh, okay, you say.

It has been conclusively proven that every single thing that the corporate media and U.S. government does or says or expects us to believe is a blatent lie. No big news there. My philosophy is to listen to the horse shit that they spew and then twist it 180 degrees to decipher the truth. It works great!

All you have to do is look at how much gold, silver and platinum prices have climbed in the past year to know that a lot of people know the economy is not improving.
I had heard a snippet on the news, awhile back, that the US government was not going to count the Katrina displacees in the unemployment figures because that would artificially inflate percentages; as this was a result of a natural disaster and therefore temporary, as well as the chaotic landscape making employment statistics hard to confirm. However, they seem to have no compunctions about counting the jobs created rebuilding New Orleans against those same figures. This must be some sort of New Math.
Although I agree with all of your statistical material, and the premise of the article, I object to your defaming crack smokers.
They are far more intelligent than the average American, these days.
Unemployment is people activly looking for jobs right now. Those layoffs in your quoted articles are for 2-3 years from now. I am being laid off by Kraft, and I have a job guarantee untill 2008 October. We are not hiring new workers and promoting from within. So yes we are cutting 8000 jobs, but not new jobs. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT.

gary: fair point; but I only used these as examples of a general downward trend in the economy that should engender a healthy dose of skepticism in anyone who hears these rosy assessments of the current unemployment situation. And if you look retroactivly at the news out of any D.C. based source the road yet to be traveled is ROUGH. The 180 trick is the "Great Equlizer" it will at least let you know where you stand.

the 180 degree thing - years ago i read that residents of the soviet union read PRAVDA the same way. i also have been reading the "news" with such filters - it does work great. isn't amazing that what we were told we were told we were fighting against is exactly what we got????

There could be bread lines going down the middle of times square and they would still say things are going great. This country is headed for a major depression, yet the headlines state (our Economy is strong), bunch of bullshit handed on a stick. Yes, the question is WHAT WOULD OUR WORST ENEMY SAY ABOUT US?--it all comes fm Jews who've captured the US with the help of the "Sadduceans" (of modern-day) like Falwell, Robertson, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, et al., establishment types; "scribes," corrupt lawyers and official functionaries; THENCE TWO GROUPS: (a) the ELDERS, and (b) the "Judeo-Christians" (JCs, many of whom are these very elders) in general, so-called "Christian" suckalongs who mistake the Jews as descendants of the Israelites and Judeans of Christ's day. JCs are those dummies who forget Pharisees were only at most 15% of the population, Jews their followers.
JCs also believe in various forms of "rapture" theology involving re-taking of Jerusalem, for example, the point being none of this so-called "theology" founded in the necessary New Testament (NT) literature.
Hence in accord with NT Conspiracy-theory-analytic-template, we know the Judeo-"Sadducean" enemy leadership (for example the present Jew-infested Council on Foreing Relations [CFR]), how they think (ultra-subjectivist, narcissist, moralist, hence fascist, collectivist, hubristic), who they think they're talking to, mainly elders and JCs, enough of whom can be used as a cadre against the people.
For example, observe how the elders vote against the cheap medicinals of the youth, the "anti-drug" laws, founded upon false moralism and Pelagian-style heresy.
Many youth are too willing to serve as enforcers for these vile topmost Judeo-"Sadducean" conspirators--and indeed they suffer as they return fm Iraq with the depleted uranium in their blood.
But they're all conspirators, the elders and JCs being pathetic as they're willing to settle for so relatively little in way of pay-off, esp. again, some of the JCs who prostitute themselves as enforcers.
What then must we do? We must make use of blogs and blogging like this one to inform our volk and fellows of this vile Judeo-"Sadducean" conspiracy, doing it by easy means of NT Consp. theory-template, but also too by any other rationalist means, making use of all relevant dramatic, literary, and rhetorical techniques. We must be apostles of the truth and urge our fellow citizens, including esp. the elders and JCs to LOSE THEIR FEAR OF THE JEWS.
Thus we bring about a Constantinian-style Christian revolution in general. Specifically we must thus drive wedges into the conspiracy, it's cohesion, and encourage falling outs among the "players." Further, we do all the necessary little things to be done in way of procedural reforms--like reversion of election of US Senators to the state legislatures, paper-trails for voting--basic simple common sense stuff that enhances (Christian) HONESTY and inhibits JEW LYING AND SUBJECTIVISM.
CONCLUSION: Remember the large battle is Western OBJECTIVITY against Judeo-"Sadducean" subjectivism, lies, fraud, narcissism, moralism, heresy, fascism, treason, and hubris. Meantime just think of St. Constantine for inspiration. Honest elections and death to the Fed. Apollonian

Ah well qrs...it's a darn good thing that Allah does not run out of money.
Here in AZ fears are worsening however (a real dirth of muslims around here you know) due to massive public projects that were projected to be financed by property taxes.
A one billion dollar deficit and all counties right now are either in budget crises or on the verge of them.
Like I said though...Allah doesn't run out of wealth and he straightens whom he wills and for very good reason.
