dragging US into WAR with IRAN

There's no time to waste. BUSH and that jackal Cheney must be IMPEACHED before they drag our nation into another unnecessary war.
"I am telling those fake superpowers that the Iranian nation became independent 27 years ago and ... on the nuclear case it will resist until fully achieving its rights" [Ahmedinejad]

* * *

"The Iranian government is defying the world with its nuclear ambitions -- and the nations of the world must not permit the Iranian regime to gain nuclear weapons," [Bush]

Four years ago Bush [named Iran, North Korea and Iraq nations that] "constitute an axis of evil, arming to threaten the peace of the world".

[This Tuesday] he described Iran as "a nation now held hostage by a small clerical elite that is isolating and repressing its people."

* * *

Ahmadinejad fired back that Bush himself was a criminal. "Those whose arms are stained up to the elbow with the blood of other nations are now accusing us of violating human rights and freedoms. God willing, we shall drag you to trial."
If BUSH and CHENEY want war with Iran so badly, let them charter one of Halliburton's planes and head over there with their nukes strapped to their stomachs. Let them die for what they believe in, or shut the fuck up.

Love the blog! There may still be hope on this issue, but I won't hold my breath: "Already, there are signs the agreement is not as solid as portrayed by U.S. officials. Russian officials have angrily said an early-morning briefing by U.S. officials mischaracterized the understanding, a European diplomat said. He added that the Russian and Chinese diplomats in Vienna have balked at a proposed resolution that would send a letter immediately to the Security Council about the matter."

If it goes through, though, the timing of the referral to the Security Council has another interesting twist "Tanzania holds the January presidency of the fifteen-member Security Council; in February, the United States will take the chair, headed by its ambassador John Bolton."

Wow, many thanks for the awesome links!

Also, from the open democracy link:

"Perhaps the most worrying aspect of the Iran nuclear crisis is the fact that the international community is prepared to step up the escalation ladder without the slightest indication that this will work. At the same time, it is hard to see how the process of escalation that Iran has triggered can be halted. This looks like a maze with no exit."

Very worrying, indeed. Time to stock up on food supplies.

The pseudodnymous 'Spengler' makes rather grave comments on the situation in Iran: http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/HA24Ak01.html Its entitled 'Why The West Will Attack Iran.' Alot of people will be shocked if all this goes down because, by and large, I believe most people remain oblivious to just how serious all this posturing between Iran and he West really is. The enormity of the ongoing situation in Iraq and the sorry shape of the U.S. economy are blinding regular folks to what is right around the next bend...
