But Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert defended the relentless bombardment, saying it was aimed at obtaining the release of TWO Israeli soldiers and the disarmament of Hezbollah in line with an existing UN resolution.
This stark-raving lunatic and his band of murderous thugs have destroyed an entire nation, displaced half a million people, and killed hundreds of innocent civilians so that he can secure the safety of only 2 -- that's right -- T-W-O, Israeli soldiers and to ensure compliance with a resolution that he has no authority whatsoever to enforce.

This is the kind of thing that is so frustrating & maddening that an intelligent, informed citizen can barely stand it any more.

nesnyc- From what I hear, it did'nt take much time to organize a carpet bombing campaign in Afghanistan; it's even said that Rumsfeld tried to push in Iraq. What I meant was that most militarized nations have lots of plans, like Israel probably has some Jordan strike strategy, even though they are at peace with the country. They most likely had a war scenario with Lebanon, and they are enacting it now for a very weak reason, but they probably thought that the US were moving too slowly on what they perceive as the true regional threat, Iran. i am a 23 yo lebanese and right now i am really scared, 15 minutes ago a bomb hit "Dahiye" a place around 7 km far from my house. i will tell you one thing probably you don't know, israel is using phosphore bombs which burns and some bombs really leaving some stink odor (chocking) that are both banned, we are obliged to put some wet cloth and coal in it and breath from it because we have no gas masks that are available no where since there are no more bridges and we are stuck in one place. you can't immagine what we are suffering, my dad has no more medication and help up till now is not available. i am catholic i don't like hizbollah but after what israel is doing with us i which hizbolla will eraze it from existence. and one more thing PLEASE HELP US IN ANY WAY YOU CAN, I DON"T KNOW HOW BUT PLEASE, UNLESS YOU WICH TO SEE LEBANON ERASED FROM THE MAP FOREVER.
