‘Did you know’ that Israel . . .
O'Reilly got a little more than he bargained for when he invited Noura Erekat, legal advocate for the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, to discuss Israel's incursion into Lebanon, its occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, and America's role in the conflict.
“I don’t think that our viewers know that Israel actually occupied Lebanon for 18 years and that in the past 6yrs years alone it’s launched 11,782 missiles over the Lebanese border. In comparison, Hizbullah has launched 100 missiles over the border. Did Americans know that? Did they know???”Now, we know!!! Thanks, Noura!
I bet he wasn't expecting that. Oh well, too late. The cat's out of the bag.

How patronizing and insulting to Ms. Erekat. I expect nothing less from Fox state sponsored television.
I think the biggest issue we're missing here is that Fox is making an attempt by inviting oppositionist views is the appearance of a systematic refutation of their beliefs. They think that by presenting the 'facts' as they wish to see them they are undercutting the foundational truths of the opposition. It is abundantly clear that Mr. O'reilly is not concerned with the FACTS of the events of the Middle East just the Bush administration, zionist issued 'talking points'.
He plainly said he had no desire to do 'missle counts' during the 'israeli' occupation of Lebanon but he's obviously concerned with the number of Katyushas 'raining down' on 'israel'. He's also not concerned with the 1000's of Lebanese that have been KIDNAPPED BY 'israel' since 1982 but the three people that were on captured on foreign soil are an issue.
How much more evidence is neccessary to show a blatant double standard at work in both the Middle East and in America? But then I believe that Ms. Erekat knew that she was walking into the viper's den and I applaud her for her bravery.
Nice video. O'Reilly's tricks at trying to control the conversation haven't changed. It's always fun when someone challenges him and he freaks out.
I don't think the "11,782 missiles" is correct actually. I think that number actually refers to the number of Blue Line violations (according to the UN) compared to the 100 violations by Hizbullah.
Can someone else verify this please?
Just a thought, qrswave, this rookie blogger has been contemplating blogging about the bullshit we are hearing in regard to the hizzbollah rockets...they really are nothing but cheap, modified bottle rockets....wikipedia.we don't hear much from MSM about the D.U tipped American supplied Israeli weapons.

Yes, can some verify, please?
I assumed, since she's an attorney, that she was precise about her claim. But, it's important to make sure that she wasn't mistaken.
Undeniable, you're right the MSM doesn't at all mention the DU-tipped, US-supplied munitions. It is certainly worth drawing attention to.
Sometimes the most important information in a discussion is what isn't said. Does anybody else find it odd how uncombative Bill was as some extremely questionable figures got introduced into the debate? Also when Bill said that Iran wished to destroy Israel she didn't attempt to correct this misrepresentation of Ahmadnijad's words(sp?).
There's a reason that this woman appeared on Bill's show and there's a reason she was treated so respectfully by a man who isn't known for his tolerance of any dissenting viewpoint.
qrswave - all the reports I've read suggest that this is the number of violations of the Blue Line. My latest piece on Suspect Paki covers this (I have refrained from swearing in it, I think, which I know makes a change...)
I have been thinking about the katyushas myself. They don't have huge explosive capability, they are purely nuisance factor. Only Arabs civilians in Occupied Palestine have been killed it seems, other than Israeli reservist soldiers, so that should make us think.

Very good observation. However, it could be that he finds her attractive. Men often fall over themselves to impress a woman. In this case, he simply didn't abuse her, which is his norm.
Anyway, re: her failure to correct false impressions vis-a-vis Iran, it could be that she wanted to keep the discussion narrow to include as many talking points as she could about Lebanon and Palestine.
But, I'm just guessing.
What's this about Israeli mortar shells hitting Arab Israeli towns?
Well it's true - the country is Occupied Palestine, the artificial wannabe state superimposed over the land is Israel. As Ahmadinejad says, that state apparatus can go too, just like the Soviet Union did. Insha'Allah
