Defining Fascism

This was inspired by a comment from one of our avid readers claiming that there are no fascists in Israel. Many people would beg to differ. Note that there are still significant differences between Fascism and Israeli policy, though what I've read here applies perfectly to the way Israel is (mis)behaving:

A recent definition is that by former Colombia University Professor Robert O. Paxton:

"Fascism may be defined as a form of political behavior marked by obsessive preoccupation with community decline, humiliation, or victim-hood and by compensatory cults of unity, energy, and purity, in which a mass-based party of committed nationalist militants (...) pursues with redemptive violence and without ethical or legal restraints goals of internal cleansing and external expansion."

Paxton further defines fascism's essence as:

1. A sense of overwhelming crisis beyond reach of traditional solutions;
2. Belief one’s group is the victim, justifying any action without legal or moral limits;
3. Need for authority by a natural leader above the law, relying on the superiority of his instincts;
4. Right of the chosen people to dominate others without legal or moral restraint;
5. Fear of foreign `contamination."

Well well.. Seems a friend of ours has some explaining to do.

Hey, thanks for highlighting the definition.

I assume by 'our friend' you mean our annoying little SOT.

However, I'm not sure why you emphasized only three of the five criteria - they all fit Israel - I mean, Zion - to a tea.

And the term Islamo-fascism'- what a joke - an oxy-moron.

Ali summed it up nicely when he pointed out:

"There is no nationalism in Islam.

There is no nationalism in Islam!"

Zionism is the most dangerous form of facism as it combines nationalism with policies of religious and racial purity.

We've seen this before.

The United States is also another five out of five when it comes to the criteria for facism.

These days I am having difficulty telling the difference between the US and Israel. The do both come very close to fitting all 3 criteria.

Israel has been wavering on 3 but that is flip switching and will change in the next election. We'll see if they put Benjamin Netanyahu back in the PM seat. I suspect that is going to happen and if you thought IsReallyCrazy people were not too subtle before.

Benjamin Netanyahu makes Ariel Sharon look like a double pawed pussycat. His renewed popularity comes after a year on the political fringe, following his opposition to Israel's so called pullout from the Gaza Strip last summer. He was soundly defeated in the previous elections, and has now emerged as the most popular Israeli politician.

Netanyahu is the definition of a facist. He is a charasmatic well spoken lying through his teeth crowd pleasing facist and a fanatical Zionist. He is the architect of the current "war on terror" and makes no pretense of his plans to settle and populate all of West Bank and Gaza (and if he has his way South Lebanon too) with Jewish populations.

I think Egghead Omelette was a way of saying "Look. A moderate PM doesn't work. We tried it and look what happened." There have been a lot of ochestrated scams to get those pesky "liberal" moderate Jews in Israel to rally behind Netanyahu and support his bolder brassier plans for Israel by appealing to their need for security.

Meanwhile, those who were already hard line or right wing will follow his plans with more devoted religious fervor, now that it's been proven how dangerous and ineffectual a moderate PM was in "defending" Israel.

Where have we seen this before?

Ahem.

The U.S. and Isreal have the same narsistic play the victim, but murder and terrorize people all over the world (including children) sickness. It is no wonder they are such close fuck buddies.

Beleive me even if idiot america won't vote for a pro-zionist, they will just fix the election, like they do all the elections.

Watch for worldwide opinion to condemn this Israeli attack.

I hope and pray that you are right about this...not that I want Iran to be attacked. Sadly, it seems inevitable.

"Zionist aggression will eventually anger so many people all over the world, they will bring about their own destruction."

I sure hope it happens soon so that innocent lives can be saved and people can start living human and not sub-human lives, like they are in Palestine and Iraq.

Unfortunately whenever I visit the MSM websites or news channels or watch TV documentaries or talk shows, it seems like the majority of people still see Islam and Muslims as threats and its followers as extremists who are out there to enforce their (Muslim) ideology on them (The Westerners). This keeps alot of them insensitive to the sufferings of the muslims because they really do see them as a threat to their security, their way of life and as their true enemies.

For sure, more and more people in the influential western world are waking up. I just hope majority wakes up soon so that a change for the better can happen sooner rather than later.

I've rarely seen anything as extremist and hateful as some of these Zionist Jewish settlers in Gaza and West Bank. These people are unreal. They kinda scared me.
