Breaking News - The Prelude to an Iranian Invasion

Maybe this should be retitled - Three Mossad agents start another international incident.

WASHINGTON — The State Department says it's aware of Iranian media reports that three American citizens have been detained in Iran.

Spokesman Robert Wood says the U.S. has asked the Swiss, who represent American interests in Iran, to confirm the reports with Iranian authorities and arrange for diplomatic access to the three, if the reports are true.

The Americans reportedly were detained Friday after crossing into Iran's Kurdistan province — when they failed to heed warnings from Iranian border guards.

And again:

U.S. helicopters were buzzing overhead and many U.S. Humvees had moved into the Kurdish city of Halabja to search for the Americans, said a Kurdish border force official.

Halabja, 150 miles (240 kilometers) northeast of Baghdad, was the site of a chemical weapons attack ordered by Saddam Hussein in 1988.

Since when do American forces get an all points call for a group of dumb hikers?

Any American that hikes around the ME or SW Asia after all of our war mongering has to be either an idiot or a MOSSAD/CIA op.

My guess is the latter.

Well, it looks like Mossad because when it broke it garnered an immense amount of publicity within hours (I had to re-edit the post)

For crying out loud, there are stupid tourists (and others)
everywhere who cross borders illegally - daily- and get busted and held, usually in handcuffs or some other uncomfortable device.

I've seen illegal border crossers get arrested in Belize and in the Burma / Thai area.

This item should have gone under the radar but it is now ALL OVER THE NEWS.

What's more, at least it said that they ignored border guards (which they were in plain sight of), probably armed. How much chutzpah does that take?

An official in the region told the BBC that the Iraqi border guards saw three Americans with big backpacks crossing the border, but they did not stop them because they thought Americans were allowed to go anywhere.

So much for the reports coming from the American MSM that the hikers had accidentally crossed over into Iran.

Let's hope it isn't Lebanon 2006 deja vu, with the dumbass IDF soldiers intruding into Hezbollah territory.

Israel cried foul and bombed the shit out of Lebanon.

U.S. cannot contrive an excuse to screw with Iran over a patently absurd context of "Americans kidnapped! held hostage!" Peace far outweigh the deadly consequence of belligerent imperialist behavior by the West after a "failed" provocation with, uh, Iranian guard speedboats in the water territory some time ago.
