But slowly, surely that is changing.
I know you're used to me harping about our monetary system and INTEREST and no doubt that it's one of the most important issues facing America today.
But, the media is by far the single most powerful weapon in the world.
From it emanates IDEAS that can change the course of history forever.
That's why BLOGS are so important.
Blogs expose the deliberate lies and deceptions propagated by the mainstream media and bring to light the inconvenient facts and ideas that EDITORS seamlessly omit.
The internet is our final chance to emerge from the madness before it consumes us all.

I heartily agree.
The US media is the enemy of the American people. FOX is not funny anymore.
What i would like to see is large get togethers, once a week to reveiw the media lies with a host of the character of Phil Donahue. We can rent auditoriums and call the event "The Friday Freak Parade".
Tired of all the palindrome proxy propaganda I locked out all the major news channels and dribble networks on my TV months ago.
The ADD/DELETE feature is a blessing.

The Crisis of the Media and the Fifth Estate
The media is the fourth power, it is said. However the media do not fulfill this function any more because they are themselves central political and economic actors.
In many countries, the media long regarded as a characteristic element of democracy – as a quasi barometer of democracy – have become the main problem for democracy. Media’s association with information has become a problem. Many citizens understand this.
I agree 100%, that is why I get the bulk of my world news from overseas sources. I'm not saying they aren't biased, but they do seem to be more interested in exposing the truth behind the story than our "lifestyle" news channels.
Don`t be misled by overseas jounalism eg BBC as in my opinion that Corporation has to abide by strick government censorship and `D` notices.
This media you speak of is controlled by jews. That's a well known fact for anyone who cares to learn about it. Not Greeks, not Russians, not Amermenians, not Italians, not New Zealanders. JEWS.
Regular people need to stop worrying about being called anti-Semitic simply because they state simple truths.

The media in Canada are trying very hard to promote Stepen Harper for Prime Minister. Harper is an excellent choice for those who value americanization of Canadian identity, for those who are moving in backwards steps in tolerance and acceptance and for those who are anxious to join in the slaughtering and humiliating the people of Iraq. His Conservative party embraces the neo-conservative way of thinking and he has just invested billions more into Canada's military. Harper has that little smile, reminds me of donald rumsfeld's smug bastard look. He wanted to send in our soldiers at the start of the war in Iraq and still does because he is a total Bush lap dog. They're all hiding something and we must figure out what it is. Stephen Harper will be Canada's Tony Blair , nothing but a Bush toady that will erase what makes Canucks seperate from the American way of thinking and sell out our country that still has strong feelings of humanity that is reflected in our strong government policies and redraw a country that only George W Bush could be proud of.

At this point in time blogs are a great way to combat the medias lies and disinformation. Unfortunately, as recently discussed on slashdot (my inner geek is finally revealed) there is a new law being considered in the US that will make blogging a lot more difficult.
With the US wanting to become the Internet's central station then it will be US laws that will end up dictating what is allowed.
